Harriet Churchyard (1836-1927) after her father’s death and the families straightened circumstances she attended the Ipswich School of Art to gain qualifications to teach. She taught at the ladies Quaker Academy, Brook House, Cumberland Street, Woodbridge; and took pupils at home. Later she took over as Librarian from her sister Laura, and remained at the Seckford Library until her death in 1927.
