Exhibited in John Day’s Bi centenary exhibition October 1998. Ellen Churchyard (1826-1909) Eldest daughter of Thomas Churchyard, she was well loved by Edward FitzGerald who rather disliked her sisters, and a favourite of Bernard Barton who wrote a long poem in her praise. She painted particularly flower studies, which suited her meticulous style.
